Quick summary
- The wizard, document checklist, and AI Health Check are free to use.
- You only pay €89 (incl. VAT) when you choose to download your completed application pack.
- Once the pack is downloaded, the digital service has been delivered and refunds are not generally available.
- If you have a technical problem before download, contact us — we will fix it or refund you.
14-day cooling-off period and the digital-content exception
Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (transposed into Irish law as the European Union (Consumer Information, Cancellation and Other Rights) Regulations 2013), consumers have a 14-day cooling-off period for distance-sold goods and services.
However, there is an explicit exception for digital content delivered without a physical medium, where the consumer has expressly consented to delivery before the 14-day period ends and acknowledged that they lose the right to cancel.
By clicking Pay €89 (incl. VAT) & download, you expressly consent to immediate delivery of the completed application pack as digital content, and you acknowledge that you waive your 14-day right to cancel from the moment the download is available.
When we will refund you
- Technical failure preventing download. If our service fails and you cannot retrieve your completed pack, contact us and we will fix it. If we cannot fix it within a reasonable time, we will refund you in full.
- Duplicate charge. If you were charged twice for the same application, we will refund the duplicate.
- Material defect in the generated PDF. If the generated form is materially defective (e.g. missing a section we said we would fill, or wrong data for clearly-entered answers), contact us within 30 days and we will fix the PDF. If we cannot fix it, we will refund you in full.
When we cannot refund
- You changed your mind after downloading.
- You decided not to apply for Fair Deal after generating the pack.
- The HSE rejected your application. We are a preparation tool, not a guarantor of HSE approval. The HSE makes the final determination based on its own assessment.
- You provided incorrect information that was correctly reflected on the generated PDF.
- You did not use a feature you paid for (e.g. did not run the AI Health Check).
How to request a refund
Email hello@fairdealwizard.ie with:
- Your account email address
- The date of payment
- The reason for the refund request
- Any error messages or screenshots if applicable
We respond within 5 working days. Approved refunds are processed via Stripe and typically appear back on your card within 5-10 working days.
Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy affects your statutory consumer rights under Irish or EU law, including the right to a remedy where a digital service fails to meet the contracted standard.
